University of North Georgia (sa国际传媒官网网页入口) faculty and staff will have the opportunity to take part in a wide array of professional development offerings through the virtual sa国际传媒官网网页入口 LEADS Day on Aug. 14. LEADS stands for Leadership, Engagement, Achievement, Development, and Service. This marks the fifth year of sa国际传媒官网网页入口 LEADS Day and the fourth time it will be held online.
sa国际传媒官网网页入口 employees can choose three 45-minute sessions to attend via Zoom in the morning, with seven options at 9 a.m., six at 10:05 a.m. and six at 11:10 a.m. Seven options are available for course or certification completions from 1-4 p.m., also on Zoom.

"Members of the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 community will present topics and best practices on academic and professional excellence, student success and personal wellness," Dr. Alyson Paul, associate vice president of Student Affairs and dean of students at sa国际传媒官网网页入口's Gainesville and Cumming campuses, said. "Breakout sessions will enable faculty and staff to participate in the sessions that interest them most, and recordings will be available after the conference."
Dr. T. Jameson Brewer and Dr. Richelle Keilholz will lead a session that explores some of the key topics related to the growth of artificial intelligence as it relates to academic integrity considerations, the importance of evaluating student work for AI-generated content, and some best practices for analyzing student work to protect the integrity of higher education and to uphold the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Honor Code.
Zachary Elison and Dr. Rana Gautam will lead a session that reviews principles and applied practices that promote student belonging. Applying skills related to in-group formation, pedagogical concern, and social valuing, attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of the mechanisms and practices that promote belonging in the classroom.
Paul and Meri-Leigh Smith will lead a session that discusses the launch of LiveWellsa国际传媒官网网页入口, which aims to create a culture and approach to student success that acknowledges that wellness is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, but is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.
Dr. Kathryn Narciso, Hugh Scott, Mallory Rodriguez, and Jie Guo, will lead a discussion of how to bring together different departments that engage in leadership education to discuss ideas and opportunities to better serve sa国际传媒官网网页入口's programs and students.
