Nighthawks honored for 5th Graders' Day Out
The University of North Georgia (sa国际传媒官网网页入口) earned the 2022 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Connecting Communities Award. The award is presented each summer to the PBC member institution that embraces the NCAA Division II core value of community engagement, bringing the institution and the local community together.
The Nighthawks hosted a 5th Graders' Day Out in association with Lumpkin County Schools on Nov. 30. All fifth-graders from the Lumpkin County School System visited sa国际传媒官网网页入口's Dahlonega Campus for a tour, lunch in the dining hall, and the men's basketball game against Toccoa Falls College. After the game, the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 men's basketball team signed autographs and thanked the community for its support.
The goal of the event was to provide the students an opportunity to visit a college campus, meet student-athletes and enjoy a collegiate athletics event.
Softball team finishes in top six nationally
The sa国际传媒官网网页入口 softball team earned one victory at the NCAA Division II championship to finish among the nation's final six teams.
Reaves named national softball Player of Year
sa国际传媒官网网页入口 senior center fielder Sydnee Reaves has been named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year.
Nighthawks advance to NCAA championship
The sa国际传媒官网网页入口 softball team has punched its ticket to the NCAA Division II championship for the fifth time in six seasons. It opens the event at 6:30 p.m. May 28 against McKendree.
McGill takes reins as brigade commander
Grace McGill has been named Corps of Cadets brigade commander for 2026-27. She is also a captain on the sa国际传媒官网网页入口 women's soccer team.
