Phi Kappa Phi chapter honored as Circle of Excellence Silver Chapter

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi has been honored as a Circle of Excellence Silver Chapter for 2020-21.

The — the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines — has recognized the University of North Georgia (sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú) chapter as a Circle of Excellence Silver Chapter for 2020-21. This is the second in time in three years sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú has been honored.

The award is given to chapters that exceed expectations in operations and demonstrate sustainability and vitality as a chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. It is given to chapters that scored a 90-94 out of 100 on a criteria scale that evaluates chapter health indicators.

"This recognition is particularly meaningful for us because of the close alignment with our university values: excellence, student focus, integrity, engagement, and service," said Charlotte Wade, president of sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú's chapter.

To be invited to join Phi Kappa Phi, juniors must be in the top 7.5% of their class, while seniors and graduate students must be in the top 10%.

Wade is director of compliance oversight at sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú.

The program recognized 67 chapters this year, including 26 with the Silver distinction. Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on more than 325 campuses in the United States and the Philippines.
